Caty Pooley, LPC-MHSP(t)

Caty Pooley is a Nashville-based therapist, who is dedicated to creating a safe, collaborative, and supportive space for her clients to heal and grow. She tailors her treatment approach to meet the unique needs of each client, prioritizing the client-relationship above all else, which is often the best predictor of success in therapy.

Caty works with adults and teenagers who are experiencing a wide range of difficulties. She frequently sees clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, as well as individuals yearning for change, managing life transitions, dealing with relationship challenges, struggling with professional burnout, or looking for coping skills to better handle stress.

In her work with LGBTQIA+ clients, Caty provides an accepting and affirming therapeutic space. With this population and with all of her clients, she combines empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard with evidence-based modalities to create an impactful and empowering therapeutic experience.

Caty’s therapeutic orientation is integrative, combining several different approaches to meet the needs of each client. Some approaches include client-centered, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness.

Caty has been working under the supervision of Clinical Director Dr. Dan Goldstein since 2022 and looks forward to being fully licensed in 2024. Prior to becoming a therapist, Caty’s professional background was in education and advocacy work. She earned a Masters of Education degree in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University and a BA from Boston College in Communication, Applied Psychology & Human Development.

In her free time, Caty enjoys yoga, cooking, cycling, spending time with family and hiking with her dog Winnie.
