Meet Neva Murray

Neva Murray, Ph.D.

Neva Murray is a Nashville, Tennessee-based licensed psychologist who works with adult and teen clients to reduce suffering, heal from past experiences, improve relationships, and build emotional strength and resilience. She is currently available for both in-person and telehealth appointments.

Neva’s clinical interests include working with clients who are struggling with trauma and PTSD, anxiety, OCD, depression, LGBTQ+ issues, relationship challenges, major life changes, identity development, religious trauma, and spirituality.Neva practices therapy through a Humanistic lens, with influences from psychodynamic and feminist theories, ultimately customizing treatment to meet the unique needs of each individual client.

Neva creates a warm, collaborative space, to encourage authenticity and meaningful conversation with her valued clients. She helps clients identify behaviors, feelings, thoughts, relationships, and systems that are impediments to personal growth – and empowers them to explore new approaches that can lead to healing, growth, and personal fulfillment.  

In addition to her therapy work, Neva also conducts psychoeducational assessments for clients seeking answers to questions about psychological, emotional, or behavioral challenges that may be interfering with social, professional, or academic success.

Prior to joining Nashville Psych, Neva completed postdoctoral training at Vanderbilt University’s University Counseling Center after earning a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the Fuller School of Psychology in Pasadena, California. Her graduate studies also include earning a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Fuller as well as a master’s degree in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary.

Neva Murray completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2021 at Fuller School of Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Fuller in 2016 and a master’s degree in theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2019.

In her free time, Neva enjoys hiking, yoga, knitting and spending time with friends and family.
