When you want to practice with more confidence

Early-career clinicians often feel the weight of decisions they’re not yet sure of. Experienced clinicians hit cases that stretch them or want to expand into new specialties. In both situations, going it alone slows your growth and adds unnecessary stress, while the right guidance accelerates your development and strengthens your care.

Good supervision and consultation aren’t signs of inexperience. They’re the mark of a serious, ethical professional.

Experienced guidance from clinicians who’ve been there

Our clinicians bring extensive training and years of practice to supervision and consultation. We provide a supportive, reflective space to think through cases, sharpen clinical skills, work through ethical questions, and grow into the therapist you want to be, tailored to where you are in your career.

We offer support with:

  • Clinical supervision toward licensure
  • Case consultation for practicing clinicians
  • Skill-building in specific approaches and populations
  • Ethical and professional decision-making
  • Professional development and training
  • Support for trainees and early-career therapists

Frequently Asked Questions

What is clinical supervision?

Clinical supervision is a professional relationship in which an experienced clinician guides and supports a developing therapist, often as part of the path toward licensure. It includes reviewing cases, building skills, and addressing ethical and professional questions.

Who is this for?

Our supervision, consultation, and training serve trainees, early-career therapists working toward licensure, and experienced clinicians seeking case consultation or skill-building in new areas.

What is the difference between supervision and consultation?

Supervision is typically an ongoing, formal relationship that may carry oversight responsibility, often tied to licensure. Consultation is usually a collegial, as-needed relationship where a clinician seeks expert input on cases or skills.

Do you provide training in specific approaches?

Yes. We offer professional development and training that can focus on particular therapeutic approaches, populations, or clinical skills, tailored to your goals.

Is supervision or consultation available online?

Yes. We can provide supervision and consultation in person in Nashville or online, depending on your needs and applicable professional requirements.

How do I get started?

Clinician Presence Group – A Training Group

The Clinician Presence Group is an experiential training group for clinicians who want to deepen the relational capacities required for depth oriented and process focused work.
This group is well suited for clinicians interested in facilitating process groups in the future, as well as those who want to strengthen foundational skills that translate across individual, group, and institutional settings.

Rather than focusing on technique, the group centers on cultivating emotional presence, use of self, and the capacity to engage intensity, ambiguity, and intimacy in real time.

Areas of focus include:

  • Emotional presence and use of self
  • Tolerance for affect, intensity, and uncertainty
  • Working with rupture and repair
  • Engaging impact, difference, and interpersonal risk
  • Developing comfort with immediacy and intimacy in the therapeutic relationship

The group is experiential and process oriented. Learning emerges through participation in the group dynamic, supported by reflection and selective conceptual framing.
This offering grew out of years of facilitating interpersonal process groups and a desire to provide clinicians with an experiential space that complements more didactic and directive training models.

The group takes place from 10:00am-11:30am at Nashville Psych, 2200 21st Avenue South, Suite 306, Nashville.

The Clinician Presence Group is currently screening members. We invite you to reach out to Client Care at (615) 582-2882 or clientcare@nashvillepsych.com, or schedule a brief telephone consultation
