Travis Carrier

Travis Carrier is a compassionate and intelligent therapist-trainee, who helps clients heal, grow, and reach their full potential. Travis believes that present moment awareness and embodiment are important aspects of the healing journey and focuses on the dynamic interchange between the therapist and client.

Travis uses an integrative approach, rooted in psychodynamic theory, drawing on multiple modalities depending on the unique needs of the client. He also frequently incorporates attachment theory, parts work, dream exploration, meditation and mindfulness, imagery, hypnotherapy, and family systems to assist in the healing process. 

Travis’ clinical interests include working with people struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress, life transitions and major life changes, career transitions, relationship issues, illness and loss, family dynamics, complex trauma, men’s issues, intergenerational trauma, religious trauma, spirituality, chronic pain and many other traumas and chronic medical conditions. 

Travis is currently pursuing a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling and pastoral counseling at Belmont University. He is working under the supervision of Dr. Neva Murray at Nashville Psych. 

Prior to starting a career in mental health, Travis graduated with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Rhode Island School of Design. He integrates his creative background into his therapy work.

Travis grew up in Memphis, TN. He has recently moved back to Tennessee, residing in Nashville, after living in New York City for some time. He enjoys hiking with friends, visiting with family, drawing, meditating, and reading books on different spiritual traditions around the world.
