Heather is a Nashville-based therapist with specialized training in perinatal mental health and trauma, and a heart for clients moving through grief and major life change.

How Heather works

Working from an integrated approach, Heather draws from different therapeutic modalities to meet each client’s unique needs. Clinically, she works from a somatic and Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed perspective, helping clients reconnect with their bodies, understand their internal world, and gently uncover what needs care. She is also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Perinatal Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (P-DBT), supporting clients experiencing trauma, depression, and anxiety.

Education and background

Heather earned her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University in 2014 and brings 15 years of experience in the field. She holds specialized training and certification in perinatal mental health (PMH-C), allowing her to support clients through pregnancy and the postpartum season with both care and clinical insight. She is also an LPC-approved supervisor and enjoys supporting developing clinicians with the same thoughtfulness she offers her clients.

In her free time, Heather enjoys being outside, exercising, reading, and spending time with her family, friends, two cats, and five chickens.
