Training Groups & Supervision

Great clinicians never stop growing. We’re here to grow with you.

Therapy asks a great deal of us. We sit with uncertainty, strong emotions, complicated relationships, and questions that do not always have simple answers.

Clinicians need places where they can keep developing – not only by learning new techniques. They grow through direct experience, becoming more aware of themselves in relationship, expanding their capacity for emotional presence, and refining the way they understand and lead interactions in the therapy room.

Nashville Psych has been supervising and training therapists for many years. We offer an experiential training group and clinical supervision for clinicians at different stages of their careers. Whether you are working toward licensure, hoping to feel more grounded in the room, or interested in developing greater depth in your work, we provide thoughtful spaces to reflect, practice, and grow.

Training Groups for Therapists

Learn through participation, reflection, and relationship.

Our Training Groups for Therapists are experiential, process-oriented groups for clinicians who want to deepen the relational capacities that support meaningful therapeutic work.

Rather than focusing primarily on techniques or case presentations, these groups gives therapists an opportunity to learn through direct participation. Members pay attention to what is happening within themselves, between group members, and in the group as a whole.

Training groups may be especially helpful for therapists who want to:

  • Strengthen emotional presence and use of self
  • Become more comfortable with intensity, uncertainty, and vulnerability
  • Notice relational patterns as they emerge in real time
  • Develop greater awareness of their impact on others
  • Practice working with rupture, repair, difference, and interpersonal risk
  • Build confidence engaging immediacy and intimacy in therapeutic relationships
  • Prepare to facilitate process-oriented therapy groups
  • Bring greater relational depth to individual, couples, family, or institutional work

Learning emerges through participation in the group dynamic, supported by reflection and selective conceptual framing. The goal is not to perform perfectly or have the right response. It is to become more aware, flexible, and present in relationship.

Clinical Supervision

A place to think, reflect, and develop your clinical voice.

Every therapist remembers what it feels like to carry a difficult case home, wonder whether they missed something important, or wish they had someone experienced to think it through with.

Clinical supervision offers an ongoing space to slow down, reflect on your work, and strengthen your ability to make thoughtful clinical decisions. We provide supervision for graduate trainees and associate-level clinicians working toward licensure, depending on supervisor availability and professional requirements.

Our approach is collaborative, relational, and grounded in years of clinical experience. Rather than simply telling you what to do, we help you develop the judgment and confidence to navigate complex situations with greater clarity.

Supervision may include:

  • Case formulation and treatment planning
  • Differential diagnosis
  • Ethical questions and clinical decision-making
  • Relationship dynamics within therapy
  • Countertransference and therapist reactions
  • Use of self in the therapeutic relationship
  • Working with uncertainty and complexity
  • Developing confidence in your own clinical voice
  • Professional identity and career development

Supervision is tailored to your training, experience, goals, and licensure requirements.

Ask About Clinical Supervision

The Work Is Too Important to Practice in Isolation

Seeking support is not a sign that you are struggling. It is one of the ways thoughtful therapists remain curious, accountable, and committed to their growth.

Sometimes that growth happens through individual supervision. Sometimes it happens by experiencing yourself in relationship with a group of peers. Both can help you notice what you might otherwise miss, challenge familiar assumptions, and develop greater trust in yourself as a clinician.

Our goal is to help you become more grounded in your work—not by eliminating uncertainty, but by helping you meet it with greater confidence, awareness, and flexibility.

Grounded in Years of Supervising and Training Therapists

For many years, our clinicians have supported graduate trainees, therapists working toward licensure, and experienced professionals continuing to deepen their work.

That experience has reinforced something we believe deeply: clinicians grow best when they have space to think honestly, remain curious, receive meaningful feedback, and explore both what is happening with their clients and what is happening within themselves.

Our approach is shaped by years of clinical practice, supervision, group facilitation, teaching, and mentoring therapists as they develop greater confidence and a stronger sense of who they are becoming as clinicians.

Imagine Feeling More Grounded and Less Alone in the Work

The most meaningful professional development changes more than what you know. It changes how you listen, how you respond, and how you understand what is happening in the room.

Imagine having a place where you can examine difficult moments without judgment, receive honest and thoughtful feedback, and become more aware of the patterns you bring into your work.

Over time, you may find yourself more able to tolerate uncertainty, stay emotionally present, respond flexibly, and trust your own clinical instincts.

That is the kind of growth we hope to support.

We invite you to contact Client Care at (615) 582-2882 or clientcare@nashvillepsych.com, or schedule a brief telephone consultation. We would be glad to learn more about your goals and help you determine the best next step.
